ANGA COM 2026: Seamless Fiber Network Expansion Without Service Disruption
FNT Software, Kontron, AVSystem, Praxedo and 5x9 Networks integrate fiber network processes from planning through to operation
Ellwangen, 19.05.2026: FNT Software GmbH, a leading provider of software solutions for the integrated management of IT, telecommunications, and data center infrastructures, will join forces with Kontron, AVSystem, Praxedo, and 5x9 Networks at ANGA COM 2026 to demonstrate how telecommunications providers can accelerate fiber network expansion using a holistic approach.
The joint solution developed by FNT Software, Kontron, AVSystem, Praxedo, and 5x9 Networks combines network and service data, technical resources, on-site processes, and service quality into an integrated, vendor-agnostic operational model.
In this model, FNT Software provides the central database for network planning and inventory management. FNT Command documents physical and logical infrastructures, their interdependencies, and the associated services. When used in conjunction with FNT GeoMaps, network resources can be visualized spatially, and technical service paths can be traced. This creates a single source of truth for all downstream processes.
An end-to-end process instead of isolated tools
When a new service order is received, the system can use the address, customer data, and service profile to verify whether the address is connected, which fiber routes are available, whether free splitter and OLT ports are available, and which Layer 2 and Layer 3 resources are required for the service. Based on this information, technical orders can be created, resources reserved, and work orders initiated for installation or expansion processes. Subsequent upgrades, such as from GPON to XGS-PON, can be prepared using the same process framework.
In this constellation, FNT is responsible for network planning, inventory management, and resource transparency. Praxedo manages field service processes, scheduling, and mobile workflows for technicians. Kontron provides access infrastructure, OLTs, customer premises equipment (CPE), and OLT management. AVSystem handles CPE provisioning, Wi-Fi services, and device management. 5x9 Networks adds virtualized broadband network gateways (vBNG), carrier-grade network address translation (CGNAT), monitoring, and quality of experience (QoE) - that is, the measurable service quality from the user’s perspective.
This ensures that technical information flows seamlessly into the implementation process. Technicians receive installation details, customer data, and network context digitally on their mobile devices. After installation, the OLT automatically detects new network components, provisioning processes start without manual intermediate steps, and operational data is fed back into monitoring and quality assurance systems. This gives operators an end-to-end view of infrastructure, subscriber status, device status, Wi-Fi performance, and service quality.
Greater control over network modernization and consolidation
This approach is also relevant when modernizing and consolidating existing networks. Heterogeneous systems, differing data models, and legacy operational processes often make it difficult to standardize workflows. An integrated approach based on open standards can help to more closely integrate service activation, resource management, monitoring, and end-device management.
Consistent data and coordinated processes also reduce operational effort during technological advancements, such as the transition from GPON to XGS-PON. Changes to OLT configurations, policy parameters, inventory data, and CPE settings can be initiated in a coordinated manner. If physical intervention is required, the field service process can be directly integrated. This makes network modernization more predictable without introducing additional operational complexity into day-to-day operations.
Live demo at ANGA COM 2026
FNT Software, Kontron, AVSystem, Praxedo, and 5x9 Networks will showcase their joint solution from May 19 to 21, 2026, at ANGA COM in Cologne at booth E30 in Hall 8. There, visitors will experience a live demo covering the entire fiber-optic service journey, from technical feasibility testing through installation and activation to ongoing monitoring.
On May 19, from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., the partners will discuss the topic “Fiber Networks: Integrated Reality or Just an Industry Myth?” during a roundtable session. They will explore how realistic end-to-end interoperability in fiber-optic networks is today and what role open standards play in scalable automation.
